Ottawa Event Planning – Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner 2007
Challenge:
In 2006, Marketing Breakthroughs served on the Organizing
Committee of the very successful Ottawa Celebrity Sports
Dinner, assisting with various marketing and communications
initiatives. For the 2007 event (the 10th Annual Celebrity Sports
Dinner), MB took on a much larger role, effectively managing all of
the event planning,
production and "game day" organization of the entire event.
Working with our partners at Event Design and the Soloway Jewish Community
Centre, it was our task to plan and produce all aspects of both
the Sports Dinner and the special VIP breakfast that took place the
day of the event.
Solution:
In order to make this event the best it could be, we had to
organize and plan nearly every aspect of its production,
including:
- Coordinating the selection of the staging, table decorations, lighting, venue layout, props, sound and multimedia production for the dinner and the breakfast.
- Selecting and managing the videographers for the event.
- Meet with CHUM radio and plan the location / set-up of their "live remote" participation in the event.
- Coordinate and finalize the menu and beverage selection with Aramark.
- Provide centralized production direction, stage management and leadership to the execution and production of both the breakfast and the dinner, ensuring that both events are produced on time and on budget.
- Help plan the VIP and Silent Auction segments of the Dinner.
Results:
The 10th Annual Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner, which was held on
November 13, 2007 at the Ottawa Civic Centre Salons, was a smashing
success.
Attended by over 1,125 people, the event raised over $200,000
dollars for charities such as the Ottawa Regional Cancer
Foundation, Football Canada, the Soloway Jewish Community Centre
and the Ottawa Senators Alumni Association. The Dinner was also
covered by both A-Channel and CJOH News.
