Challenge:
Holmes Heating was seeking an innovative
way to help its customers understand the basics of furnace
maintenance and operation after installation. They turned to the
Ottawa video production
specialists at MB.
Solution:
Marketing Breakthroughs suggested the development of a customer
friendly DVD to help Holmes impress their customers and
differentiate themselves from their competitors.
We analyzed inbound customer service calls at Holmes and
determined there were a number of common questions that customers
asked. We then prepared a subject outline for the DVD including:
how to turn the furnace on, how to program the thermostat, how to
check and change the filter; and produced a troubleshooting guide,
and contact numbers for Holmes' emergency, service and technical
support.
Marketing Breakthroughs developed a production script by
interviewing Holmes' management and supervisory staff. We hired Dan
Lalande, a veteran local actor, who was cast in the role of a
friendly Holmes technician. We next organized a video shoot that
featured Dan talking about troubleshooting tips and included
interviews with several Holmes' field supervisors. The DVD was shot
on-site at the Holmes Kanata Head Office as well as at the home of
one of the Holmes senior managers.
Marketing Breakthroughs produced the video and post-production
editing in our state-of-the-art multimedia-editing suite.
Results:
Holmes now has a best-in-class DVD to give to customers and
prospective buyers during new furnace sales presentations. Many
Holmes customers have commented on how easy the DVD is to use and
how helpful they find it.
