October 13, 2009 - On November 18, 2009 the Ottawa Celebrity Sports Dinner (OCSD) is bringing two-time Super Bowl champion John Elway to our city. The event, which raises money for the Soloway Jewish Community Centre, is now in its 12th year.
Marketing Breakthroughs, a corporate sponsor of the event, will again be organizing many aspects of the dinner and helping the OCSD to further its reputation as Ottawa's premiere celebrity sports event. For the past four years, Marketing Breakthroughs has been donating its Ottawa marketing and graphic design services for the event, and this year is no different.
The OCSD's distinct logo has been redesigned and updated annually by MB. Many marketing and advertising products were recreated this year to incorporate the event's keynote speaker, John Elway. The dinner's website, tickets, and sponsorship package were upgraded to reflect the event's growing stature in Ottawa. In its history, the OCSD has raised more than $400,000 for the Soloway JCC and other charities, and this year's event is already on pace to break previous fundraising records.
Marketing Breakthroughs CEO and Creative Director Steve Klein serves as the event's Executive Producer, ensuring that the OCSD runs smoothly and exceeds fundraising expectations. More than 700 guests will attend this year's event, enjoying an evening of speakers, Ottawa celebrities, and live and silent auctions. Each year, the OCSD gathers a unique collection of sports items and memorabilia for auction thanks to its generous sponsors.
Many of Ottawa's best-known sports celebrities will also be in attendance to sign autographs, including members of the Ottawa Senators, and Brian Kilrea. Of course, with former Super Bowl MVP John Elway in attendance, this year's OCSD is bound to be a touchdown.
