With representatives from PriceWaterhouse Cooper, KPMG, Grant
Thornton and almost 30 other CA firms from across Ontario in
attendance, the CA Firm Recruiting and Retention
Summit kicked off with a stirring presentation on the
importance of employer branding delivered by keynote speaker Kim
Peters, head of Working.com and founder of job-search giant
Workopolis.
Later in the morning, Eric Meerkamper and Edyta Pacuk shed light
on the quandary that is Generation Y, explaining the basic values
and needs of this vital demographic and how CA firms can adapt
their recruiting and management techniques in order to hire and
retain the most talented young employees.
After a hearty lunch break, in which participants had a chance to
network and make new contacts, Era Integrated founder Cleve Lu's
presentation about diversity management elicited a frank and
insightful discussion from the audience.
Steve Klein
ended the summit on a high-note with an energetic presentation that
opened the doors of the Internet wide open and showed attendees
what advanced online marketing can do for the employer brand of
their practices. Steve and the MB team also shared the results of
Marketing Breakthroughs' University Accounting Student CA Firm
Website Survey, which revealed some surprising facts about young
job-seekers and what they think about CA firm websites. The numbers
turned some heads and debunked many myths about what makes a
business website effective.
When all was said and done, feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
The depth of knowledge that was presented throughout the day
impressed many of the participants, and provided them with a long
list of innovative solutions that they were able to put into effect
immediately upon returning to their offices.

conferences coming to your area.
